To make this craft you will need;
Cut two pieces 2 inches by 3 1/2 inches of pink paper. Trace the bottom of the cup on pink paper and cut out the circle, glue to bottom of the cup.
Cover sides of cup with your two pieces of paper and glue with white glue.
Now it is time to make your hearts. You will need one 2 by 2 1/2 inches for the wings. Make another one 2 by 2 inches for the head.
(Saint Valentine married young men who were forbidden to marry. To remind these men of their vows and God’s love he would cut hearts out of parchment.)
Make a circle of tape, and place it on the side of the cup. Place the fold of your heart wings on the tape. (Love is fleeting. Catch it while you can.)
Make another circle of tape, and place it on the bottom of the cup. Unfold the heart and place it on the tape. Glue a wiggle eye with white glue on each side of the head.
To make you love bug’s legs, cut both of your pipe cleaners in half so that you have four 6 inch pieces. You will need only three of the pieces.
Take one of your pipe cleaners, and fold the ends to the center. Blend into a “C” shape. Then fold the ends to make feet. Do the same to all three of your pipe cleaners.
Tape or hot glue the legs on the bottom side of your cup. Tape works up to a point. But hot glue secures it better and helps it stand.
This would be cute at each table setting for your Valentine’s Day feast dinner. You could even make a special gift by placing candy or small items in the back of the cup.
Give your love bug craft to someone you really like. (Or you could give it to someone who is bugging you).
